Hospitalists of Northern Michigan is looking for new team members who share our passion for hospitalist medicine and who will uphold and promote our standards for patient care, teaching, research and leadership. We welcome inquiries from physicians who are trained in internal medicine, med/peds and family practice, as well as non-physician providers (NPPs) interested in or experienced in these specialties. We work hard and expect those who join us to do the same, but we reward this dedication with a competitive salary that includes incentives, as well as excellent benefits and an aggressive retirement package

Our largest program is our combined adult and pediatric hospitalist program at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan, the largest institution in the Northern Michigan region. A level-two trauma center and referral center, Munson is an approximately 400-bed tertiary care facility serving 24 counties throughout northern Lower Michigan and the eastern Upper Peninsula. It has the region’s largest medical staff, with nearly 600 physicians representing 57 specialties.

Munson Medical Center’s long list of honors includes:

We also serve Mercy Hospital Cadillac, a Top 100 Hospital and 2007 recipient of the Governors’ Award for Quality, which is located in the heart of Northern Michigan. Mercy Hospital Cadillac is a 90-bed community hospital that retains all of its Midwestern charm and friendliness. Cadillac, a wonderland for outdoor enthusiasts, sits on the edge of the massive Manistee National Forest and is surrounded by hundreds of lakes, streams and rivers.

In 2009, Hospitalists of Northern Michigan launched a program at Alpena Regional Medical Center, a 150-bed, award-winning hospital nestled on the “sunrise” coast of Michigan. Designated as a rural regional referral center, Alpena is a full-service hospital located in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. The hospital is a big part of the reason that this charming community has so often been named as one of the best places to retire. We are looking to build a full-service hospitalist program in Alpena, caring for intensive care patients, adult patients and pediatric patients.

The most recent program is at Dickinson County Healthcare System in Iron Mountain, Michigan.  Serving the central Upper Peninsula of Michigan and adjoining counties of Northeastern Wisconsin, DCHS is committed to staying current with medical technology and providing quality care as reflected in the many nationally recognized programs and services.  This is a unique combination of big city technology and infrastructure and small town caring and dedication to patients.  As one of the largest cities in the Upper Peninsula it offers four seasons of outdoor recreation, beautiful waterfalls, forests and the Menominee Range.
